(1/21/07 - Columbus, OH) - The Inaugural "Rumble in the Buckeye State" took place Saturday night at the Ohio Expo Center on the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio and Sidney, Ohio's Brandon Knupp took part in the USAC midget portion of the Rumble Series event in his own #15 midget. The "Rumble in the Buckeye State" has joined the well known "Rumble in Fort Wayne" as part of the 2007 events.
Knupp competed in the "Rumble in Fort Wayne" on December 29 & 30 with a strong finish of 8th in the main event and a consi win. Brandon also recently returned from the Daytona International Speedway where he tested a NASCAR Craftsman Truck last weekend.
The Ohio Rumble Series indoor event manufactured a strong 4th place qualifying attempt for Knupp and a 2nd place finish in the fourth heat race. The Main event feature left Brandon with a tight race car on the 1/10 mile concrete track and produced an 8th place finish.
“This is definitely one of the tightest little indoor tracks I've ever raced on,” Knupp said, with a big smile. “It was really a lot of fun and they've put together a great event for Ohio. I really wasn't sure what to expect coming here to Columbus but the fans got a good show and it was a good time.”
